Save the Dates: Christmas in La Quinta

100%

Spend the merriest season of all in La Quinta as this resort city in Coachella Valley unfurls a bevy of festivities that the whole family can enjoy. Come to La Quinta for these Christmas events.

Winter Craft (December 9)

78275 Calle Tampico

Sponsored by the La Quinta Public Library, this event makes books the center of an interesting crafting session for children aged 8 to 17. Participants in this fun activity will each be provided with a tiny book where they can unleash their creativity and decorate for placing into a “literary” snow globe. They have the option to keep their handiwork or give it to a friend or family member in the spirit of the season.

Holiday shopping at Old Town La Quinta (December 12)

Main Street

La Quinta’s historic Main Street will come alive with holiday cheer as boutiques will be serving great Christmas treats starting at 5 P.M. Live music will fill the venue to get your family in step with the Yuletide festivities. A cameo from Santa and Mrs. Claus from 5 to 6 P.M. will allow the kids to whisper their wishes to the jolly couple while parents shop to their hearts’ delight. The whole family can then cap the evening with dinner at Main Street’s finest restaurants.

Gingerbread Lane (November 25, December 2, 9, and 16)

Old Town Artisan Studios, 78046 Calle Barcelona

This one-of-a-kind art studio in La Quinta is known for allowing those with special needs and limited access to have memorable experiences through art classes and workshops. Every Christmas season, their studio turns into a winter wonderland, complete with lights, music, gingerbread cookies (of course) and other Christmas goodies, and enthralling performances by volunteer performers from the Greater Palm Springs area. Now in its fifth year, Gingerbread Lane opens its doors to the public for free to spread Christmas cheer. You may also get to pose with Santa and Mrs. Claus when they visit.

Trivia Night (December 21)

Beautiful Day Farm to Table Restaurant & Wine Bar, 50949 Washington Street, Suite 1A

A local favorite for brunch, farm-to-table restaurant Beautiful Day is the venue for a special Trivia Extravaganza. Exercise your brain and see how far your stock knowledge can take you in this happy competition hosted by rising Palm Desert personality and comic, Dakoda Miracle. Wholesome and fun, every member of the family can participate in answering questions from general knowledge to Christmas-related topics, making this one of the most out-of-the-box things to do in La Quinta, CA this Christmas.

La Quinta Resort & Club Christmas activities

49-499 Eisenhower Drive

All eyes are on the crown jewel of La Quinta as it takes Christmas festivities to another level this year. The resort’s Christmas calendar begins with cooking demos led by Executive Chef Andrew Cooper and chestnut roasting in the lobby starting November 24, followed by the resort’s official tree-lighting ceremony on November 26. There’s breakfast with our favorite guy in the red suit on November 26 and December 17, and then a movie showing of Christmas film classics like Home Alone and – a La Quinta Resort favorite – It’s a Wonderful Life by the resort waterfall every Saturday evening from November 25 to December 24.
